I got the idea for positive president quotes during the recent presidential campaign. I found many of the candidates focusing on negative messages and I began to look for inspirational and positive messages in previous presidents. Before I knew it I was head over heels researching speeches and library sources looking for great, lasting messages from all of the presidents. This part of the work led me to robust sources such as the U.S. Presidential Libraries and other sources that contain the original material. 

As the project gained momentum I went on countless photographic expeditions in and around Washington DC, often looking for a different view of the Nation's Capital and surrounding nature. During this part of the work, I made contact with many people in museums and other historic places that supported my project.   

I have tried to attach a meaning or emotion from the quote to match the photograph. This was not always easy and is of course subjective. I do hope that you enjoy the Timeless Calendar that is my debut publication and that it will inspire you in your daily work. For me, it has been an exciting journey that I now want to share with you!

Determining the number and types of quotes from each president and placing them within the year was a dynamic process. During this stage I paid attention to President's birthdays etc., although this is not stated in the calendar, so more for you to find out. Selecting quotes from presidents that held office during turbulent times and had to wage wars, was particularly challenging given that I wanted to focus on positive uplifting messages.

It is perhaps not known to all is that behind the historical monuments in Washington DC there are numerous artists. During my work I made contact with several of the artists, that often required significant research and making introductions. I am deeply thankful for the response, encouragement and suggestions from many of the artists and, in some cases, their families.
